Our story
Owned by three women of color, Oeste opened in Old Oakland at the end of 2017. They purchased an abandoned storefront, originally built in 1921, that once housed business such as a uniform supply store, a bail bonds company and a barbershop to name a few. The two-year buildout completely transformed the space, combining the storefronts and adding a roof deck for dining, which gave the old brick building a new purpose in what is now home to Oeste bar & kitchen.

The Oeste team is a family, both literally and figuratively. We are made up of siblings, cousins, aunt, niece, mother and son, and long-standing friendships. Our core value is family, and we do our best to extend that value to all our Oeste guests. Oeste is a place where everyone can come as themselves.
